Washing & Care Tips
Since this fabric is delicate and the embroidery is heavy, it requires gentle handling to maintain its shine and prevent the threads from snagging.
Dry Clean Only (Recommended): Because of the metallic threads and heavy border, professional dry cleaning is the safest way to prevent the fabric from shrinking or the Zari from turning black.
Spot Cleaning: If you spill something small, dab it gently with a damp cloth and a drop of mild detergent. Never rub, as this will fray the delicate tissue fibers.
Avoid Machine Wash: The agitation of a washing machine will destroy the scalloped edges and tangle the embroidery.
Drying: If it gets damp, hang it on a padded hanger in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Never leave it in direct sunlight, as the metallic sheen can fade or "burn."
Ironing: Always iron on the reverse side using a "Silk" or low-heat setting. Use a thin cotton cloth (pressing cloth) between the iron and the saree to protect the sequins.
